Walla Walla High School 2026 JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC)
Walla Walla High School’s Blue Devil Battalion planned and executed their annual JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) or summer camp, May 7-9, at Post Falls, ID, and Spokane, WA. 23 cadets from WaHi, representing all grade levels, volunteered to attend. Walla Walla was one of four Army JROTC programs that attended: University H.S., Spokane, WA; Hanford H.S., Richland, WA; and Sand Point H.S., ID, for a total of 80 students.
Cadets participated in the high ropes course, land navigation, cross-country rescue, team building events, the modified Army Combat Fitness Test, obstacle course, and 40 and 60-foot rappelling. With everyone in attendance operating out of their comfort zone, the cadets excitedly made the most of the training.
JCLC gave every cadet an opportunity to earn ribbons and arcs to display on their Army Service Uniform, which were worn proudly at the JROTC Military Ball and Awards Ceremony on May 16th and the Annual Review and Change of Command on May 20th.
