WaHi FBLA Students Represent Walla Walla at National Competition in San Antonio

Seven Walla Walla High School FBLA students traveled to San Antonio, Texas, this summer to represent WaHi at the FBLA National Leadership Conference, competing in business-related events against students from across the country.

The WaHi delegation of competitors included Lexi Sullivan, Hayes Hendley, Cameron Morgan, Mica Hartman, Siri Mouat, Noelle Farnam, and Violet Hall. Each student earned the opportunity to participate at the national level after advancing through FBLA's competitive process.

The National Leadership Conference provided students with the opportunity to demonstrate the business and career-readiness skills they have developed through their coursework and involvement in FBLA. Competitive events challenged students to apply their knowledge of business concepts, communication, problem-solving, leadership, marketing, technology, and other areas of business.

For the WaHi students, competing in San Antonio was the culmination of months of preparation. Students spent time studying, practicing presentations, preparing projects, and developing the skills necessary to compete against some of the top FBLA students in the nation.

In addition to their competitive events, students participated in leadership activities and had opportunities to network with other FBLA members from around the country. The conference also allowed students to learn more about business careers and develop professional skills that will benefit them beyond high school.

Traveling to a national conference also gave the students an opportunity to represent Walla Walla High School and the Walla Walla community on a national stage.

“Reaching the national level is an accomplishment that reflects the time and effort these students put into their events throughout the year,” said WaHi FBLA adviser Bernard Ma. “The experience in San Antonio gave them the opportunity to take the skills they learn in the classroom and apply them in a competitive, professional environment.”

The trip capped off another successful year for WaHi FBLA, with students competing successfully at the regional and state levels before advancing to the national conference.

FBLA provides WaHi students with opportunities to develop leadership, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and business skills while connecting classroom learning with real-world career experiences. The San Antonio conference gave Lexi Sullivan, Hayes Hendley, Cameron Morgan, Mica Hartman, Siri Mouat, Noelle Farnam, and Violet Hall an opportunity to put those skills into action and represent their school on the national stage.
