Golden Onion Teacher Development Fund Award
Congratulations!
Our very own CTE teachers, SFC (R) Mark Mebes and Jessica Johnson, were selected as recipients of the 2025–2026 Golden Onion Teacher Development Fund Award in the amount of $1,000.
Longtime Walla Walla residents Sue and Mike Gillespie established the Golden Onion Teacher Development Fund to support educators in Walla Walla Public Schools. These funds may be used for classroom supplies, professional development, or other opportunities that enhance learning in classrooms. The Gillespie Teacher Development Fund is a component fund of the Blue Mountain Community Foundation.
SFC (R) Mark Mebes and Jessica Johnson, along with other recipients, were recognized at the March 17, 2026, School Board meeting.
