JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge

Twenty-two cadets attended an annual summer camp in Spokane. Four Army JROTC programs attended.  Students were trained and conducted rappelling!!  Every cadet in WaHi’s program executed the task with no issues. Cadets conducted a high and low ropes course, team building activities, and the EWU ROTC Obstacle Course.  On their last day, cadets took the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT), which consists of:

  • 3 Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL): Measures lower body strength (3 stations were set up: 150, 240, or 340lbs).

  • Hand-Release Push-Up (HRP): Tests upper body muscular endurance.

  • Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC): Assesses muscular endurance, strength, and anaerobic power.

  • Plank (PLK): Measures core strength and endurance.

  • The 2-mile run (was not tested)

WaHi cadets did a fabulous job.  They showed grit, determination, and resilience.
