Walla Walla High School FFA Students Share National Conference Experience

At the September 16th school board meeting, Walla Walla High School FFA Advisor Jessica Johnson and student Baylee Appleford provided an update on their participation in the National FFA Next Gen Conference, held in June. Fellow student Teegan Timmons also attended the conference but was unable to join the presentation due to a volleyball match.

The students traveled to Philadelphia, PA, where they joined 75 participants from across the country. The multi-day conference focused on exploring careers in agriculture, developing leadership skills, and generating ideas to strengthen local FFA programs. In addition to workshops and networking opportunities, participants visited historical sites, local high schools, and the Philadelphia Zoo.

Appleford and Johnson expressed their gratitude to the school board for its support, noting that the experience was both memorable and transformative. They emphasized that the lessons learned and connections made will have a lasting impact on their education and future careers.
