Walla Walla FFA Shines at the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days

Published September 19, 2025: Walla Walla Public Schools Week in Review

The Walla Walla FFA Chapter had an outstanding showing at this year’s Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days, held August 28–31. The annual fair has long been an opportunity for students to showcase their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects, a cornerstone of Agricultural Education. All students enrolled in agriculture courses complete an SAE project, and many choose to participate in the fair as part of their learning experience.

This year, 50 Walla Walla FFA members exhibited a variety of livestock animals. Many students entered market animals, which were sold during the Youth Livestock Sale, while others showed breeding and performance animals in competitive events. The gross proceeds from the sale for Walla Walla FFA members totaled more than $107,000. These sales, supported by generous individuals and local businesses, allow students to reinvest in future projects, save for college, or begin building financial independence.

Beyond livestock, members also entered more than 200 non-animal projects, ranging from floriculture and horticulture displays to welding, metal fabrication, agricultural mechanics, and biology exhibits. Many of these projects earned top awards, reflecting the creativity, craftsmanship, and agricultural knowledge of Walla Walla students.

In addition to fair participation, the chapter is gearing up for an active school year. Events include the Washington FFA Evergreen Tour, the annual Haunted Barn at Trunk or Treat, CDE/LDE Night, Friendsgiving, and more.
