JROTC Commander Recognizes Superintendent for Program Support

During the Nov. 18, 2025, school board meeting, Walla Walla High School senior and JROTC Commander c/LTC Sofie Edwards presented Superintendent Dr. Ben Gauyan with a JROTC sweatshirt and challenge coin in appreciation of his ongoing support of the program.
Edwards thanked Dr. Gauyan for his continued involvement, noting his recent remarks at the Veterans Day assembly and his efforts to highlight JROTC in his monthly Pulse video series. She also recognized his participation with cadets at the rifle range and his feature of the Raider Course in his new video series, Out and About with Dr. G.
The recognition underscored the strong partnership between district leadership and the JROTC program at Walla Walla High School.
